OUR MISSION: HOWF has grown so much since 1989 when Sue joined the HOWF team, but the mission has always remained the same, a mission that is felt in the heart of each and every staff member and lived every day. The success of HOWF would not be possible without the support of the community, and the volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents. She states that “It is an honor to work for HOWF and I feel blessed and proud of all of the programs we offer the community during some of the most challenging times of their lives.”
Sue Baker, Director of Administrative Services

Having spent 18 years at HOWF, I know that we treat all of our patients as if they were our loved ones. Every person deserves to die with dignity and respect.
Alisa Echols LMSW, Executive Director

WHAT SETS YOU APART:  HOWF is the only non-profit hospice in the area and we strive to give exceptional care to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
Kim Killian RN, Director of Clinical Services

OUR CARE: I’ve been with HOWF for over 17 years, and I am fully committed to the advancement of the hospice philosophy of providing care, support and dignity for anyone facing a life-threatening illness. At HOWF I have had the opportunity to care for people from all walks of life, all socioeconomic levels, many different creeds, ethnicities and countries of origin. I have the privilege of being part of a wonderful team of compassionate, well trained professionals who share the same passion for providing the best care and support for patients and their families during the most difficult journey many will ever face. Only a few practitioners are able to care for their patients so closely until the last moments of their lives.
