HISTORY: I grew up in Minnesota and North Dakota. I hold a BFA in Illustration and Architectural Design from MCAD in Minneapolis and an MFA in Illustration from SVA in New York. I worked as a free-lance illustrator and taught Illustration and Graphic Design at a variety of schools. In 2002 I moved to New Zealand, where I managed a local arts council and taught English to political refugees. We moved to Wichita Falls from New Zealand to be closer to family. I’ve been at the Arts Council since 2015.
APPROACH TO BUSINESS: Our mission is to encourage the arts throughout our local and regional community. My goal for our six galleries is to showcase a variety of artists, from amateur to professional and across a range of styles and media. I view each exhibit and event we produce as an opportunity to provide learning about the arts, and the business of the arts, to artists and patrons.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE: I spend my time outside the office with my two children and on making things. I create digital paintings, I design and sew clothes, and I do some freelance photo editing, graphics and web design.
