Maple Pumpkin Butter

This pumpkin maple butter is a thick, richly spiced spread that is so versatile and easy to make.  It is delicious on top of toast or muffins, swirled into oatmeal or yogurt, or dolloped onto crackers.  It's the perfect kick-off to Fall!

Total time: 40 minutes | 16 servings 

  • 2 (15 oz) cans pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider or apple juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Add all ingredients to a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir to combine and allow to bubble.
  • Reduce heat to a low simmer.  Stir every 10 minutes, cook (uncovered) for 30-40 minutes until the mixture has reduced, darkened, and thickened.
  • Let cool, and transfer to a container for storage.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
